chleb i sól, flour, salt, twine installation, 2010

Made from flour, salt and water — the basic ingredients for making bread, the installation reflects my interpretation of the Slavic tradition of welcoming guests with chleb i sól, bread and salt, placed on a crocheted doily or embroidered cloth.  This ephemeral work greeted exhibition visitors as they entered the space.
