I was gifted a beautiful “roboty siatkowe” lace piece during my exhibition in Rzeszów, Poland.
It was such an honour to receive the work of another woman’s hands – the mother of the giver.
Made sometime in the late 1950s, this lovely textile inspired me to create a cyanotype on kozo paper that captured the intricate form by the light of the sun.
My carré celebrates the pattern from one hand to another and is printed in Canada with reactive dyes on silk Habotai.
