SUMMARY:Natural Dyes 101 at Shed\, PEC
DESCRIPTION:This workshop offers an introduction to natural dye processes including mordanting\, preparing plant-based dye vats\, and post-mordanting. Participants will learn the fundamental principles of working with natural dyes and will create a dye reference booklet with a range of fibres including\, cotton\, silk and linen as well as a sample Shed’s very own alpaca. Additionally participants will each hand dye a cotton tote. We’ll explore foraging for colour and collect plant stuff for our dye vats from around the farm.
