This workshop offers an introduction to natural dye processes including mordanting, preparing plant-based dye vats, and post-mordanting. Participants will learn the fundamental principles of working with natural dyes and will create a dye reference booklet with a range of fibres including, cotton, silk and linen. Additionally participants will each hand dye a cotton tea towel.
1 hr lunch break – explore the many lower junction triangle neighbourhood cafes and galleries
Bring your curiosity and gather in good company in my light filled studio.
Light refreshments and materials will be provided.
