The reference to nature and choice of materials in my work opens a platform for reflection on the fragile, transient and exquisite quality of life.
In my process I am mindful of reducing and reinterpreting waste. Over the last few years I have been exploring natural pigments and recycled surfaces including native black walnuts for ink, bee’s wax and milk paint on recycled tea bags and on wood panels reclaimed from scrap bins.
My work is often subtle and quiet. Observing seasonal transitions, I am reminded of a larger order and pattern of relationship in all things.
